  • Empowered with tangible tools they can use at school and at home

Family Hubs & Community

Creative early intervention for children, young people, families and the professionals who support them, with support that meets families where they are.

4 or 6 weeks

Children and young people programmes

Programmes combining mindfulness, guided visualisation, storytelling and creative activities. Children learn to notice thoughts without being controlled by them, practise positive self-talk, respond with self-kindness and understand the feelings that thoughts can create.

Targeted small group support

Focused early-intervention groups for children or young people experiencing anxious or overwhelming thoughts, low confidence, friendship difficulties or challenges with change.

Creative story time and family sessions

Interactive sessions led by an author, where children explore how difficult thoughts can pass and families learn calming techniques and encouraging self-talk they can practise together.

Teen and young adult wellbeing

Age-appropriate workshops exploring confidence, self-worth, relationships, pressure and anxious or negative thought patterns.

Care leavers and care-experienced young people

A calm, respectful space to build confidence, recognise personal strengths, manage stress and find practical coping techniques for transitions, education, work and everyday life.

Parent and carer wellbeing

Gentle, accessible workshops that create space for reflection, rest and reconnection, with mindfulness and self-regulation strategies for everyday pressure and family life.

Parent and child sessions

Shared creative sessions that give families a positive way to talk about thoughts and feelings and use calming tools together. Activities are memorable, manageable and easy to repeat at home.

School and community partnerships

Sparkling Leaf can connect Family Hub support with schools, libraries and community settings, giving children and families consistent wellbeing tools across the places they already know and trust.

Neurodivergent-friendly wellbeing

A flexible, strengths-based approach designed with neurodivergent children and young people in mind. It focuses on understanding and supporting individual needs rather than expecting everyone to think, feel or regulate in the same way.

60 to 90 minutes

Sessions are accessible, flexible and supportive of different communication, sensory and participation needs. Topics can include:

  • Understanding our individual brains and needs
  • Recognising personal strengths
  • Understanding overwhelm and emotional regulation
  • Sensory and grounding strategies
  • Managing busy thoughts and overthinking
  • Self-kindness and reducing negative self-talk
  • Identifying individual coping strategies
4 or 6 weeks

Neurodivergent-friendly wellbeing programme

A progressive programme giving neurodivergent young people the opportunity to better understand themselves, recognise their strengths and develop a personalised toolkit of strategies to support their emotional wellbeing.

The programme is wellbeing-focused and is not intended to replace specialist clinical, therapeutic or diagnostic support.

Professionals & Organisations

Practical training for Family Hub staff, school teams and community professionals. Workshops introduce ways to help children notice overwhelming thoughts, use supportive self-talk and practise mindfulness and emotional regulation, with practical approaches that can be reinforced after the session.

Sessions also support staff members’ own wellbeing, helping them manage stress and reduce the risk of burnout.
